PASS Coalition Endorses Bipartisan Bill Targeting Counterfeit Imports

​WASHINGTON, DC — The Coalition to Protect America’s Small Sellers (PASS Coalition) announced support for bipartisan legislation, S. 5160, to would further enhance the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) ability to crack down on counterfeit imports. We applaud Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) for offering a significant step forward in ensuring consumer protection, enhancing competition, and supporting economic development.

S. 5160 builds upon the strong foundation of collaboration already established between law enforcement agencies, eCommerce platforms, and retail industry stakeholders. By facilitating the sharing of information and establishing a central coordinating body, this bill provides the necessary tools to enhance the investigation and prosecution of counterfeiting and organized retail crime, which has seen a troubling rise in recent years.
